Dream Catcher Kids Stencil Kits are coated with a repositionable adhesive. That means no tape or spray adhesives are required. Just peel, stick and paint. When the paint is dry to the touch, pull off the stencil and reuse. The adhesive also helps prevent paint from bleeding under the stencil. Inside each kit are dozens of stencils, detailed instructions, ideas for layouts, color suggestions as well as helpful hints such as working around furniture.

Paint-By-Number Instructions:

1. Tape
Tape the transfer paper to the back of the pattern paper, then tape the pattern paper to your wall.

2. Trace
Using a ball point pen, trace the design onto the wall. Do NOT trace the numbers (sometimes they show through the paint). When done tracing, remove the pattern from the wall.

 3. Paint
Paint the areas of the mural with the corresponding colors listed on our numbered color guide. Or make up your own colors! And there you have it- your own paint by number wall mural!

A few helpful Tips for your Paint-by-number Murals:

  1. Paints... There is a recommended paint color list provided. But you can use any paint color or brand you prefer. Find these paints at any local craft store.
  2. Wall colors: The Murals show up best on light colored walls - white, cream, pastels. Preferrably in an eggshell, satin, or semi-gloss finish.
  3. Don't trace the numbers, they may be difficult to cover up with the paint.
  4. You can protect your mural from fingerprints, etc. by applying a coat of Clear Coat for INDOOR use. This should be applied with a roller and to the whole wall. Be sure to cover everything with the clear coat, because as it dries, it will appear darker than the non-coated areas.
  5. To reverse your pattern simply put the carbon paper on the backside of the pattern, trace the outline. Then turn over your pattern and you will have a reversed copy on that side. Now proceed as normal.

Applying Decals/Stickers:

Application is a simple 3-Step process of Peel, Place and Smooth with your hand. Your decals/ stickers can be re-arranged and removed easily and multiple times. To ensure re-useability, place them on the clear backing they came on.

Make sure your walls are free of dirt/greasy marks (fingerprints, crayon, etc) and are dust free before applying the decals and stickers.

If your walls are freshly painted, allow them 4-7 days to dry and cure before applying the decals/stickers. This will ensur that the fresh paint won't peel when removing them.

Applying Pre-Pasted Wallpaper Murals from Wallies:

Big Murals come pre-pasted, just soak them for a few seconds and then stick them to the wall. That's it! Here are a few helpful tips:

  1. When you are ready to apply the cutouts, simply place in water, fully submerged, and soak for one to two minutes.
  2. Remove the cutout from the water, draining off any excess water.
  3. Using a sponge or paper towel, smooth on each piece, wiping from the center out toward the edges to eliminate any trapped air bubbles.
  4. Continue with this same procedure until your Wallies project is complete.
